BENCHMARK STUDY OF THE I-DYNEV EVACUATION TIME ESTIMATE COMPUTER CODE
The report compares observed vehicle movement on a highway network during periods of peak commuter traffic with a simulation of the traffic flow made with an I-DYNEV computer model. The purpose of the comparison is to determine if the model can accurately simulate the patterns of vehicular movement and delay during congested commuter traffic. The results indicate that the I-DYNEV model adequately simulates the patterns of vehicular movement and delay associated with an evacuation, provided that the model's capacity reduction factor is an input parameter.
