PENETRATION RESISTANCE AND LIQUEFACTION OF SANDS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE ELEVENTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOIL MECHANICS AND FOUNDATION ENGINEERING, SAN FRANCISCO, 12-16 AUGUST 1985
Data are given, which would be useful when carrying out the electrical cone penetration test to evaluate the risk of liquefaction of natural sand deposits. The following aspects are examined: normalization of the measured penetration resistances (qc and nspt) as a function of the initial effective overburden stress; the influence of stress and strain history on the measured penetration resistance; and the nspt/qc ratio for sands. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 287689. (TRRL)
