RESISTANCE STUDIES OF SHIP MODEL WITH BOUNDARY-LAYER SUCTION
Results of analysis of data obtained by application of suction to boundary layer of ship model, designed to be of minimum resistance for Froude number; model had previously been tested in towing tanks, and analysis of wave resistance had been made by using wave-pattern measurements obtained from sterophotographs; viscous resistance can be made to decrease by application of suction to value lower than value given by ITTC 57 and Schoenherr curves.
