TRIP-END ANALYSIS: AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE SIGNIFICANCE OF A ZONAL TYPOLOGY

RIL-EIND ANALYSE; ENLCELE THEORETISCHE OVERWEGINGEN EN PROEVE VAN EEN GEBIEDSTYPOLOGIE

The limits of the scope of scientific research planning are described. The description of a behavioural system of spatial action determines the nature of problems concerning the household as a decision unity for spatial action. It is argued that disaggregating models should be used instead of aggregated models. This implies the need to introduce a zonal typology; the household lives in a typical environment having a certain level of service. The last part discusses experimentation with variables for a zonal typology. It is found that they are highly significant for the behavioural equations. This offers the possibility of integrating trip end and distribution analyses in one model. The covering abstract for the conference is IRRD no. 213390. /TRRL/
