ELECTROLYTIC SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING CORROSION AND MARINE GROWTH
The Cathelco System was originally developed for the control of corrosion and scale formation in water systems and it was only by chance that the discovery of its potential in marine growth prevention was made. Until now this property has been applied almost exclusively for use in pipelines and their attendant services and the uniformly good results have prompted the interest of a major shipbuilding group. Trials have been carried out, again with encouraging results, to establish whether it would be economically possible to apply the Cathelco System to the hull of a ship for control of fouling.
