CARBONATION DEPTHS IN STRUCTURAL-QUALITY CONCRETE: AN ASSESSMENT OF EVIDENCE FROM INVESTIGATIONS OF STRUCTURES AND FROM OTHER SOURCES
The purpose of this report is to examine evidence, from Building Research Establishment (BRE) site investigations and other programmes of work, on rates of carbonation in concrete, and to assess whether or not current recommendations regarding the use of structural reinforced concrete are likely to ensure adequate protection to plain reinforcement for the anticipated life of structures.
