ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1972. VEHICLE TESTING - THE TESTER'S MANUAL

This manual gives explanatory notes on the statutory provisions and regulations governing the operation of the vehicle testing scheme and guidance on the practical aspects of the test. The first two parts of the manual deal with the regulations and part III concerns the conduct of vehicle tests. It indicates how a tester should set about the task of satisfying himself that the requirements relating to braking systems, steering, tyres and lighting equipment, and seat belts are met. Appendices give the prescribed statutory requirements, define a dual-purpose vehicle and show examples of test certificates. /TRRL/
