BEHAVIOUR OF LIQUIDS IN A RECTANGULAR TANK IN MOTION

The velocity potentials are found for liquids content with free surface in a rigid rectangular tank undergoing sinusoidal movements of translational and pitching type. The expression is found for the dynamical pressure acting on the transversal tank walls while the results of a numerical computer investigation are plotted in dimensional diagrems.
