ELECTRICITY SUPPLY OF THE GERMAN FEDERAL RAILWAY BY MEDIUM-VOLTAGE NETWORKS OF PUBLIC POWER UTILITIES
DIE ELEKTRIZITAETSVERSORGUNG DER DEUTSCHEN BUNDESBAHN AUS DEN MITTELSPANNUNGSNETZEN DER OEFFENTLICHEN ENERGIEVERSORGUNGSUNTERNEHMEN
The German Federal Railway obtains at hundreds of points of connection electric three-phase energy for traction purposes from the medium voltage networks of the public electricity supply. Some of this energy is not used by the railroad system. A description is given of the fundamental technical construction of customers' installations and their connection with the mains as part of the overplaced network and supply concept of the electricity supply utility using Stuttgart as an illustrative example.
