KEEPING PUBLIC TRAVEL SAFER
This article reports on the use of closed circuit television (CCTV) for security and safety surveillance, inspection and monitoring in airports and the District of Columbia's rapid transit subway system. Photograph highlights of situations-adaptable CCTV, which can be built for effective use indoors and out, show significant uses of surveillance cameras and their positioning in the Seattle/Tacoma Airport, the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, and the Singapore Airport in Southeast Asia. Pictures also show subway layout, design, and camera placement as pre-planned for vandalism prevention and passenger security in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area transit system.
