A MODIFIED METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE WEIGHTING MATRIX
Methods based on the weighting matrix Q of a suitable quadratic performance index and the optional control matrix F are available for the design of optimal controllers using pole assignment techniques to achieve a desired degree of stability. In this paper a new and modified method is presented for determining the weighting matrix Q to shift two real distinct eigen-values to their pre-assigned positions in one go. (Author)
