MAGNETIC LEVITATION PROJECT IN BERLIN, GERMANY
DAS MAGNETBAHN-PROJEKT BERLIN
By 1986 a demonstration line in Maglev technology of about 1.6 km length will be realized in Berlin. The vehicles and the route, the long-stator drive and the automation system will be developments of the components used at the Brunswick test plant in West Germany. The objective of the project is the verification of the integration ability and the reliability of the new technology. A description is given of the alignment and the arrangement of the plant.
