CAR POOLING IN A SWEDISH SUBURB

Several trials have been made in Sweden to stimulate car pooling but these have not resulted in changed travel behaviour. A new model for car pooling has been tested in a suburb at Gothenburg. Transport companies are "leasing" private cars for pooling and pay the driver per mileage. The driver and his passengers pay for a season ticket. (TRRL)
