VICOTEC: A PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF MODERN ELECTRONICS IN A TRAFFIC SURVEY

VICOTEC: PRAKTISCHE TOEPASSING VAN MODERNE ELEKTRONICA BIJ VERKEERSONDERZOEK

In the sector of traffic and transport, information is greatly valued. The acquisition of the required data takes up a great deal of time and is often expensive. Up to the present time visual counting has mostly been used to acquire data on quantitative and qualitative aspects of traffic. An electronic device, the VICOTEC, has been developed which is based on modern hard and software technology. One of the programs of VICOTEC is used for the automatic registration of visual or mechanical counting. The second possibility is the measurement of events. The equipment is briefly described.
