IMPROVEMENTS FOR BICYCLE TRAFFIC IN LELYSTAD
VERBETERINGEN VOOR HET FIETSVERKEER IN LELYSTAD
Provisions for bicycles in Lelystad, the new town in the Netherlands seem to be not entirely favourable. Full segregation between slow traffic and other traffic has led in many cases to long detours for cycle traffic. New provisions should be attuned at the physical possibilities of the weaker road user, his preference for the shortest route and his dislike of obstacles. Conclusions and recommendations for improvement are presented. (TRRL)
