GENERAL ELECTRIC'S CORPORATE ENERGY PROGRAM ORGANIZING FOR RESULTS

The organizational structure of the General Electric energy conservation program is described along with the reporting and measurement system for the program. The record of the program since 1973 is reviewed. integrated computer program networks and identifies a need for hierarchical data base management in computer programs for structural analysis. The nature of the data hierachy is illustrated with reference to a building that has been analyzed by using substructure techniques. The organization and features of the hierarchical data base manager STRATA are then described. STRATA Has been developed specifically for use in structural analysis. (Author)
