ON THE RIGHT TRACK BY FOOT AND PEDAL
A survey of pedestrians' attitudes to cycle route facilities provided in Nottingham is described. Some 200 pedestrians were interviewed in July 1984 at four locations along the route. Of them 92 percent were aware of the existence the route and 47 percent had at some time cycled on the route. Details are given of the various sections of the route which run from Clifton to the city centre. The route consists of separate cycle tracks and footways, shared paths with and without white line segregation and includes several crossings, two with special signals for cyclists. 78 percent of users said they would like to see extensions of the route, including 71 percent of those who said they had never cycled on it.
