COMPARISON OF LIQUID LIMIT TEST RESULTS. TECHNICAL NOTE
The liquid limits of 30 soil samples were determined by four different tests; the cone penetrometer, casagrande (standing for 24 hours), casagrande (immediate testing) and casagrande one-point. The results obtained were compared statistically to determine the relationship between the methods. The resulting correlation matrix and regression equations are presented. Little difference is shown in the value of liquid limit of a soil determined by any of the casagrande methods, but the cone penetration method underestimates the liquid limit.
