THE GENERATION OF JOURNEY TO WORK TRIPS IN MEDIUM SIZED URBAN AREAS

All systems for the modelling of transport demand operate from a first phase establishment of the "level" of demand, generally denoted as trip generation. THTS paper presents a model of journey to work trip generation, as part of a modelling system which, with the use of a limited amount of information concerning the area of application, enables the evaluation of current demand and a forecast of that consequent to various future scenarios for medium sized urban areas in Italy.
