An investigation of the rheological behavior of cement pastes was carried out. Pastes were prepared from a commercial Portland cement 325 at different water/cement ratios ranging from 0.30 to 0.40. Tests were performed at 25 degree C using a rotating coaxial cylinder viscometer. The investigation was accomplished by applying measuring devices of different geometric characteristics and various rheological procedures. The influence of the cement hydration process on the rheological behavior was studied both under shear conditions and after various times of rest.
