THE STRENGTHENING OF DAMAGED PRESTRESSED BEAMS ON BEAM SLAB BRIDGES
IL CONSOLIDAMENTO DELL'IMPALCATO NEI PONTI CON TRAVI PRECOMPRESSE DANNEGGIATE
This article describes and illustrates a method of repair for beam slab bridges in which one or more of the prestressed beams has been damaged (through impact, fire etc). The technique, used for the first time, consists in encasing the areas of damaged steel in a passive external reinforcement fixed with metal dowels and bonded to the beam by pressure injected epoxy resin. The method has been used on the sp Planina bridge on state road 76, Esino Bypass.
