ON THE PERMISSIBLE LEVEL OF THE TRAFFIC VOLUME IN AN URBAN ROAD NETWORK

This paper stresses the importance of network capacity in transport planning and presents algorithms based on a flow assignment technique for its calculation together with that of the environmental capacity and economic capacity. A numerical example is given of network capacity calculation applied to the main road network in Osaka City. For the covering abstract of the proceedings see TRIS 450538. (TRRL) (TRRL)
