ON THE NEW CONSTANT FREQUENCY CONTROLLERS INSTALLED ON THE TRAINING SHIP "FUKAE MARU"

With a view to improve the frequency characteristic of the ship's electrical sources, two types of constant frequency controller are developed, which are maintained at the training ship Fukaemaru. The automatic type having a standard voltage source is constructed of few elements and capable of control so that the stationary deviation of frequency is within plus or minus 0.5Hz for the reference frequency 60Hz. The other controller, the integral compensation type, operates the line frequency to keep the absolute standard frequency which is given by the ship's cristal watch. Through the experimental results of the above mentioned controllers installed on Fukae-maru, it is confirmed that each controller has estimated good responses for dynamic station operation. It is considered that the new frequency controller with integral compensation device is capable of providing a stabilized frequency standard for automatic ships having the unattended machinary spaces. This paper presents the outline of the new controller and experimental results obtained.
