A METHOD FOR MEASURING THE REVENUE LOSS DUE TO FRAUD WITHIN A PUBLIC TRANSPORT UNDERTAKING

This paper describes a new method for measuring the revenue loss due to fraud committed on buses. The method measures the total loss due to all types of fraud by both passengers and employees. The application of the method in measuring the revenue loss due to fraud within greater Manchester transport is described. A development of the method to measure the revenue loss due to employee fraud alone is also described. (Author/TRRL)
