EQUITY SOLUTIONS FOR TRIP DISTRIBUTION
Many criteria have been used to formulate trip distribution models -the approach introduced in this paper is make the sum of location and travel costs equal for each zone in a linear city. It is shonw that linear programming can be used to find solutions to this "equity" problem. A simple example is examined where the distribution of origins and destinations is fixed. It is discovered in the example that equity solutions can be found which are almost as efficient as the minimum trip distribution. (TRRL)
