LOCAL RESPONSE TO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENTS AND ACCIDENTS
The issues discussed in this Information Bulletin include: Planning for responses to hazardous materials incidents and accidents; Coordination of local regulations with Federal regulations to prevent conflicts that could disrupt interstate transportation; Establishing specialized emergency response teams to handle accidents and incidents involving hazardous materials; and, Financing approaches to local data collection on hazardous materials transportation, the maintenance of a local database, and the ongoing operation of an emergency response team.
