VALUE OF TIME SURVEY: A STUDY AT ABERDEEN TUNNEL
In March 1982 one tube of the Aberdeen Tunnel was opened to traffic. This new toll facility brought about significant changes in travel patterns. The study reported was initiated with the following objectives: 1, to investigate changes in travel patterns in the territory with particular emphasis on Hong Kong Island; and 2, to measure the relative willingness of private motorists in selecting the tunnel route, with a view to deriving the behavioural value of time for this type of traveller.
