THE DISAGGREGATED STRATEGIC MODEL
This note sets out the current data sources and relationships used in the bus and rail strategic models, which are extensions of a global model. The main text of this note gives a broad outline of the rationale behind the models and the way they work. Appendices give technical details of: demand and supply data (bus and rail); cost assumptions (bus and rail); wait and journey time calculations (bus and rail); the value of time; congestion and accident costs; demand calculations (bus and rail); consumer surplus calculations.
