THE MANEUVERABILITY OF SHIPS AS INFLUENCED BY ENVIRONMENT AND HUMAN BEHAVIOUR

This paper presents the results of a study performed on the N.S.M.B. ship maneuvering simulator aimed at the development of criteria for the maneuverability of ships sailing in a current. Six pilots navigated four types of 250,000 d.w.t. tankers in sixteen different conditions of current.
