LEO. A PLAN FOR NDT
This article has described a technique which has two main objectives--immediately, it provides a method of validating nondestructive examination techniques for particular components in a form which can be used with encouraging precision if sufficient failure history or adequate theory and experiment is available. In the future it offers a concept which can be used at the design stage to improve design detail, choice of material and fabrication technique and ensure that adequate preparation and forethought is put into the selection of nondestructive testing methods and standards.
