TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC EVALUATION OF DUAL-MODE TROLLEYBUS PROGRAMMES. FINAL REPORT. THEME 3, RELIABILITY-MAINTENANCE. SWISS/ITALIAN CONTRIBUTION TO TOPIC NO.3 OF COST PROJECT 303. BRUSSELS, 22 OCTOBER 1984
Given the forecasts for the type of energy conditions likely to dominate the western world up to the end of the century and even beyond, the development of the dual mode trolley bus suggests itself as an alternative strategy to operating the conventional bus. It should help electric traction, with its known low nuisance level, to regain a central position in public passenger transport. This report examines the general requirements with regard to reliability in dual mode articulated trolley buses, and the physical management of buses and trolley buses.
