DRAINAGE CONDITION SURVEY-FIELD MANUAL
This manual is for use with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's Drainage Inventory and Condition Survey. The Drainage Inventory and Condition Survey iss a supplement to STAMPP (Systematic Technique to Manage Pennsylvania's Pavements), in that its purpose is to provide location-specific condition data of the drainage along Pennsylvania's highways. The data collected is used for the following purposes: 1. To provide a uniform statewide condition evaluation which will improve decision making. 2. To provide management with the information and tools to monitor the condition of the network, assess future needs, establish county condition rankings, and optimize investments. 3. To provide condition information to fulfill the requirements of Act 68 (1980), which requires the allocating of maintenance funds to the individual counties based on needs. 4. To provide informaton for monitoring the performance of various drainage materials and designs, and maintenance procedures. 5. To provide information for identifying candidate projects for maintenance and betterment programs. (Author)
