A fundamental principle of marine reheat boiler control system has been originated by KHI and applied successfully to five tankers, of which the reheat steam turbine plants had been developed also by KHI. Although the control principle itself involves no great problems several problems are still left mainly on installation, adjustment, operation and maintenance for reason that the control systems are constructed by the combination of general purpose pneumatic control equipment. To solve these problems in the original pneumatic system and to achieve better control, higher reliability and easier handling of reheat boiler control system, a new electronic control system has been developed to our own design and applied on the GOLAR ROBIN, the sixth reheat turbine tanker built by KHI. The main features of this new control system for reheat boilers are described in this paper.
