GLACIAL GEOLOGY. AN INTRODUCTION FOR ENGINEERS AND EARTH SCIENTISTS

The early chapters of this book describe depositional processes at modern glacier and ice sheet margins relating sediments and landforms in recurring "landsystems". Later chapters portray the distribution of these landsystems in Pleistocene glaciated terrains of the mid-latitudes, focusing on commonly encountered problems concerned with stratigraphic and sedimentological investigations, subsurface exploration methods and engineering testing, geotechnical properties, mapping, mineral exploration, groundwater assessment, waste disposal and hydrogeological investigations, foundation engineering and design, and construction problems relating to roads and dams.
