SOFTWARE FOR ENGINEERING AND PLANNING - SOME AUSTRALIAN DEVELOPMENTS

This paper outlines Australian developments in software for use in transport planning and engineering. Seven areas are considered: surveys, data analysis, demand modelling, planning, simulation, design and operations. A number of packages for each area, and developed in Australia, are described. Trends in software development, including application of microcomputers, interactive graphics, and "expert systems" are discussed. (Author/TRRL)
