The Effect of Area-wide 40 KPH Speed-limit. This report summarizes the results of the projects "The effect of 40 KPH-zones," being a part of the general project "Motorvehicle-speeds in built-up areas." The speeds of 21 streets, having the 40 KPH-zone implemented, has been analyzed and compared with the speed-trend of the six control-streets that have been unaltered. The results are that the zones have not changed neither the speeds nor the choice of route of the motor-vehicle-drivers.
