USING OUTDOOR NOISE MEASUREMENTS OF ROAD TRAFFIC TO ASSESS THE NUISANCE TO PEOPLE IN THEIR HOMES

This paper discusses the results of tests where traffic noise was measured simultaneously inside and outside a building. The effect of the building on the noise is analyzed and an outside microphone height and frequency weighting is suggested which best describes the subjective impression of the inside noise.
