FACTORS AFFECTING THE TENSILE CREEP OF CONCRETE

Previous research into the phenomenon of tensile creep is discussed in terms of the factors affecting compressive creep behaviour, viz, magnitude of applied stress, ambient humidity and temperature, paste content, aggregate type and grading, age at loading and cement type. Due to difficulties associated with the experimental technique, the test data presented are limited and, in some cases, contradictory. (A)
