OIL FIELD DRILLING ACTIVITY DATA REDUCTION AND DENSITY MAP PRODUCTION
A series of earlier reports described a method for analyzing the effects of oil and gas field development on rural highways in Texas. This report describes computer programs and data files to generate "grid/density" maps of oil field regions. These maps locate major activity centers and identify impacted roadways. Programs and data files discussed in this report generate maps depicting statewide levels of drilling and production activity. Additional programs aid in developing and updating a database (1977 to Present) of Texas oil and gas activity. This report also contains instructions on the use of these programs and data files. The program results describe statewide variations in activity and identify potential areas of associated truck traffic. (Author)
