This 19th edition of the Statistical Yearbook, Transport, Communications, Tourism, contains the most important figures on transport statistics in the European economic community and its member states in time-series for the period 1970-1983. This yearbook contains in detail the most important data on infrastructure, mobile equipment, the distances covered by the various modes of transport (rail, road, inland waterway, merchant shipping, aviation, and pipelines), and selected data for traffic accidents, post and telecommunications and tourism. The series are selected from a wide variety of sources, named at the end of the publication. The statistics have been supplied principally by the national statistical institutes, the responsible ministries in the member states and by international organizations. (TRRL)
