AC POWERTRAIN FOR AN ELECTRIC VEHICLE. PHASE 2 AND PHASE 3. FINAL REPORT
This report describes work relating to Phases 2 and 3 developent and testing of an ac powertrain for a 25 hp four-passenger electric vehicle. The system, which consists of a two-speed automatic mechanical transaxle, 18.6 kW ac induction traction motor, 33.6 kW inverter and overall logic controller, was installed and evaluated in a converted Mercury Lynx rolling test bed vehicle. An on-board charger and an auxiliary dc-to-dc converter were integrated into the inverter/controller package.
