TRANSPORTATION INNOVATION TO SERVE URBAN NEEDS

THE ARTICLE EXAMINES THE DEVELOPMENT OF URBAN TRANSPORTATION PLANNING INNOVATIONS WHICH TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE FOLLOWING FACTORS (1) TRAVEL HABITS GENERATED BY NEW URBAN SITUATIONS, (2) THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES, (3) THE MANNER IN WHICH THE DEVELOPMENT OF DOMINANT TECHNIQUES AFFECT SOCIOECONOMIC GROUPS, AND (4) THE MANNER IN WHICH A CRISIS SITUATION AND AVAILABLE TECHNICAL RESOURCES ARE NECESSARY PRECONDITIONS OF MAJOR INNOVATIONS.
