WORLD-WIDE OPERATIONAL GUIDE FOR TANKER SAFETY
A summary is given of the International Chamber of Shippings Tanker Safety Guide (Petroleum), an authoritative operational guide for seafarers on the subject of tanker safety. The guide has been designed to present to the tanker seaman, not a vast reference book, but an easily assimilated 41 pages of recommended and recognized good practice in the promotion of safety. The guide deals primarily with operational matters and does not intrude into the realms of construction and equipment. Repairs or navigational matters are not touched upon except where there is a direct relationship with operational safety. It is published in loose-leaf form and it is intended that as equipment and operational procedures change in a fast moving industry, the guide will be kept up to date by amendments and additions.
