The motorcycle safety foundation began operation in 1973 to encourage and develop motorcycle safety eduction programs on a nationwide basis in the United States. As part of its initial program, the foundation has developed The Beginning Rider Course (BRC) which is available to schools and other interested organizations. Designed to train the beginning rider in the proper techniques of handling and riding a motorcycle, especially in traffic, the three-part instructional package consists of student textbook, student workbook, and instructor's quide. /HSRI/
