SWISS IDEA FOR SLICK DISPERSAL
Equipment to remove oil carpets from the surface of the sea using hot water and steam is designed to be capable of handling an oil slick 20 km long, 1 km wide and 10 mm deep within 10 to 12 hr. The equipment is characterized by the two main floats connected on the starboard side of the mother ship, and the system also includes a tender. The method of operation of the equipment is described.
