ADDITION OF HYDRAUIIC LIME TO CONCRETE

L'ADJONCTION DE CHAUX HYDRAULIQUE AU BETON

A study is made of the reasons for adding lime to concrete (improvement in workability, stability of mixtures resulting from the addition of a large quantity of fine particles), and of the influence of this addition on the workability, segregation and strength of the mixture. On the whole, this influence is a favourable one. Figures are quoted for cube compressive strength values at 28 days and water/cement ratio as a function of the quantity of lime added. Results are presented of several tests carried out during a survey.
