RATIONAL USE OF THE CATHODIC PROTECTION OF STEEL IN SEA WATER

O RATSIONAL'NOM PRIMENENII KATODNOJ ZASHCHITY STALI V MORSKOJ VODE.

A STUDY IS PRESENTED OF THE PROTECTION OF CARBON STEEL BY MEANS OF THIN FILMS OF LIME. THE INFLUENCE OF THE CURRENT DENSITY AND POLARISATION TIME ON THE GROUP CONTENT IN SOLUTION IS INVESTIGATED TOGETHER WITH THE EVOLUTION IN THE STEEL POTENTIAL AFTER SUPPRESSION OF THE PROTECTIVE CURRENT. ATTENTION IS DRAWN TO THE NEED FOR MAINTENING THE POTENTIAL OF STRUCTURES TO BE PROTECTED AS NEAR AS POSSIBLE THE PROTECTION POTENTIAL WHICH DEPENDS ON PH BY REDUCING CURRENT DENSITY.
