Results are presented concerning the effect of high polymer drag reducing additives on turbulent dispersion in open channel flow. The data obtained for the longitudinal turbulent dispersion coefficient increases with increasing polymer concentration for dilute polymer solutions at a given Reynolds number. The data for the flow of water and dilute polymer solutions show that the dispersion coefficient varies linearly with the Reynolds number for each concentration. Above a Reynolds number of 10,000 the dispersion coefficient could be predicted from theoretical equations with a single empirical constant.
