HOW LASH WAS BORN. LASH INVENTOR DESCRIBES HIS SYSTEM TO ICHCA
Adaptation of three papers presented at the ICHCA Netherlands Conference on the LASH system at Rotterdam, Feb 27 1970. System described includes concept of loading container type barges 61 ft 6 in. long by 31 ft 2 in. wide by 13 ft deep on mother ship especially designed to on and off load barges over its stern by traveling gantry crane. Objective is to reduce port time of mother ship by loading and unloading barges for local tow by tugs in port and river traffic.
