HIGH/STRENGTH STEELS HELP SOLVE WEIGHT AND SHORTAGE PROBLEMS

High-strength sheet steels are a family of modern materials that can help the designer solve current problems in a practical and efficient manner. Some of these design problems, which are becoming increasingly significant, include the need to reduce weight, improve performance, meet safety and environmental requirements, and more effectively cope with the continuing shortage of steel. High-strength carbon and high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel sheet materials are now available with the capability of both forming and welding, which permits them to meet specific design requirements and to be cost-effective in a greater number and variety of applications.
